Objective of SMS System on Mysore ITS.

The SMS system will provide real-time bus arrival information and scheduled bus availability for the convenience of customers. In this way customers shall be able to plan their trip according to real-time information.

How to send an SMS

MITRA will be used as prefix to all the SMS.

* General SMS Information

1. Get Stop Code if only Stop Name is Known

Type:

MITRA <stop name>

Example:

MITRA RAIL

Response:

Railway Station: stop code: 2049

Railway Gate: stop code: 2047

Railway Work Shop: stop code: 1732

2. Get Routes that go through a particular Stop

Type:

MITRA Route <stop code>

Example:

MITRA Route 1010

Response:

Routes through Stop 1010 are 203, 88A, 88B

3. Get Stop Names on a particular Route in a given direction

Type:

NOTE 1: If SMS does not match system format, system will send: "SMS Format Incorrect. Please Check and Resend Request."

NOTE 2: If the tag up/dn is not provided, the default will be "up" direction.

NOTE 3: Default is next 15 minutes or 5 buses. If the bus is more than an hour away from the stop, the system provides STA instead of ETA.

NOTE 4: For Pre-Trip Information, the System Response SMS will be sent 15 minutes before the time set by the commuter.

NOTE 5: <days> all (all days), wd (weekdays), we (weekends), MO-Monday, TU-Tuesday, WN-Wednesday, TH-Thursday,FR-Friday, SA-Saturday, SU-Sunday. wd for(Monday - Friday), we for (Saturday-Sunday).
